WorldTeachersDay - Gov. Fayose Awards Teachers Car Gifts and 50 Million Naira

On Wednesday, Governor Ayo Fayose of  Ekiti State donated 50Million Naira to all public school taecher in Ekiti State. The donation was announced at the Oluyemi Kayode stadium during the rally in Ado-Ekiti as part of activities to celebrate the World Teachers’ Day in the state.

According to the Gov. "The donation was in recognition of the recent feat by the state which had been labeled first in the just released NECO results. The Gov. also ordered that the money be shared (irrespective of grade and status) equally among all the teachers and that the states Accountant General shares of the money available in each teacher’s personal account latest Friday this week."

He added that this gesture is aimed at spurring the teachers for greater achievements ahead of the upcoming years and spur them for better performance. He also urged them to ensure that their students performed well in both NECO and WAEC in subsequent years by keeping the flag flying.

Also, beside the cash gift, two teachers labeled as the best in the state in the out-going year at both primary and secondary schools, were both given brand new KIA RIO car.
The Secondary School Teacher Award was Jeje Thompson from Ara Comprehensive High School, Ara Ekiti, Ijero Local Government Area and Adesina Foluke Bosede won the Best Primary School Teacher Award. The runners-up received N200,000 each, while the two teachers that came third got N100,000 each.
