Garmin Approach S40 Golf Watch - GPS Watch Designed for Golfer

Garmin has added a new GPS watch to its golf gadgets. The new smartwatch unveiled by Garmin is designed for wear both on and off the course for golf players.

The new Approach S40 is an addition to the Approach series, the smartwatch will sit in between the Garmin S60 and S10 golf watches, offering users a design akin to the Forerunner 645 range. The watch has a sunlight-readable 1.2-inch color touchscreen for users to play around, there is also quick release bands that allow the style to be switched up.

In terms of the features, the smartwatch is packed with cool and amazing features that include;

  • Stylish, lightweight GPS golf watch with a sunlight-readable 1.2” color touchscreen display with a metal bezel and quick release bands for easy change of style or color
  • Preloaded with more than 41,000 courses from around the world
  • AutoShot detection measures and auto-records detected shot distances¹; pair with optional Approach® CT10 club tracking sensors for more automatic game tracking capabilities
  • Green View feature allows manual pin positioning; quickly reference distances to the front, middle and back of the green as well as hazards and doglegs
  • Tracks everyday activities² such as steps and sleep and includes built-in multisport profiles
  • Battery life: up to 15 hours in GPS mode; up to 10 days in smartwatch mode

There's a couple of smartwatch and fitness tracking features, too, in order to boost the experience off the course. The Approach S40 can be linked to a smartphone over Bluetooth in order to receive notifications, while the wearer's daily steps and sleep can also be tracked.

Te watch can also show distances to the front, middle and back of the green, hazards and automatically records detected shot distances. It also lets you manually adjust to today’s pin position for accurate approach shots.

For even more precise automatic game tracking, you can pair with optional Approach CT10 club tracking sensors and you can also use the Garmin Golf app preloaded to the watch for live scoring, automatic scorecard uploads and the ability to review all your stats in real time on your compatible smartphone during play and after your round.

With the additional smartwatch features, you can wear it all day, and it can track your activities. And the watch can last up to 15 hours while golfing or up to 10 days in just the smartwatch mode.

While for the pricing and availability, Garmin indicates that the Approach S40 will be available for order in early Q2 2019, with prices starting from £239.99 and rising to £309.99 for those who want to bundle in three of the Approach CT10 club sensors.
