OPPO F11 Pro - Design and Display

One can easily believe that the OPPO F11 Pro is expensive because of its amazing looking design. It is poetic how the 6.5-inch screen of the phone achieves a 90.90% screen-to-body ratio. The phone is designed with an LCD panel with a Full HD+ resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. This display is free from bothersome obstructions as the selfie camera is neatly packaged into a rising unit at the top of the phone

The F11 Pro has either triple-color or dual-color gradient depending on which model you opt for - Thunder Black of Aurora Green. The large 6.53" display is free of any cutouts and with the bare minimum of bezels. While the initial OPPO F11 itself has a waterdrop-like notch, this Pro model is all about the full-screen experience, and that's why Oppo has moved the selfie camera onto a motorized pop-up.

A pop-up selfie camera is no longer new, it is a familiar concept as seen Vivo. Also, the screen is not truly bezel-less. Even, none on the market is. This allowed OPPO to fit in the earpiece on the top bezel. And the one on the F11 Pro is super thin and long.

The device, however, has just one loudspeaker, and it's at the bottom. The top part of the frame has a noise-canceling mic and the ambient light sensor. There are two proximity sensors on the Oppo F11 Pro, but we can't really tell where - probably behind the screen.

At the back is a vertically stacked 48MP+5MP dual-camera setup is centrally placed at the rear and is perfectly aligned with the rising selfie camera unit. A fingerprint scanner sits just underneath the cameras in a position that is ideal for easy access. All this contributes to a gorgeous looking handset that exudes a sense of symmetry that is absent from many other phones

OPPO F11 Pro - Performance, Storage and Camera

With the OPPO F11 Pro, you get a MediaTek Helio P70 chipset running on the hood. This chipset has already proven to be very popular in the mid-range smartphone segment, and OPPO has taken it a step further with all the under-the-hood optimizations it has invested in for the F11 Pro.

The Helio P70 CPU has an octa-core processor with 4x A73 cores at 2.1GHz and 4x A53 cores are running at 2.0GHz. This means that you can expect nothing less than a high-performance quartet that is just 100MHz higher than same on the Oppo F9 Pro and its P60 chip. The OPPO hasn't changed the GPU since the P60.

The most obvious of these is the redesigned UI with the brand’s latest ColorOS 6.0. This F11 Pro is the first Oppo smartphone we have seen running on the latest Color OS 6, the ROM is based on Android 9 Pie and features a lot of improvements with more discreet optimizations for good user experience and smooth performance while gaming and multitasking with the device.

And for the storage, the device has an internal 128GB for the 6GB Ram version and 64GB internal storage for the 4GB version. The storage can further be expanded using a microSD card up to 256GB allowing you to save more files. However, you can online use either the dual SIM without a MicroSD card or a single SIm and a MicroSD card. The choice is yours.

The camera of the F11 Pro is the most enticing feature. The primary configuration at the back of the device is comprised of a 48MP+5MP imaging setup. To make impressive low light portrait photography possible, this camera offers an impressive f/1.79 aperture and a 6P lens setup to capture more light.

Furthermore, the camera can even be adjusted to take 12MP shots using a 4-in-1 pixel binning method to achieve better details, especially in dim lighting. Also, OPPO brings you Ultra Night Mode that combines the benefits of an integrated AI Engine and Ultra-Clear Engine to capture crisp photographs. This mode essentially allows for a long exposure shot with optimizations for image stabilization, multi-frame noise reduction, skin brightness and more.

The OPPO F11 Pro's secret weapon here is its ‘Pixel-grade Color-mapping algorithm’ that is capable of restoring and enhancing brightness and colors. This mode also makes use of a noise reduction system so that you get just as good results in low-light. These AI-based enhancements on the rear camera of the F11 Pro also make scene recognition possible. A total of 23 scenes can be recognized by the phone’s camera to allow automatic optimizations to the image after it is taken.

And coming to the F11 Pro’s selfie camera, it has a 16MP lens hidden in the rising mechanism at the top of the device. A lot of the same AI-based enhancements found on the phone’s rear camera is also used here to make sure optimal image quality. With that said, the average selfie enthusiast is more concerned with beatification options, and the F11 Pro has those in spades

OPPO F11 Pro - Battery and Other Features

A long-lasting battery is what buyers crave for. Besides, what’s the point of a smartphone with powerful features with a poor battery that can't even last a whole a day at least? Well, the massive 4000mAh battery of the OPPO F11 Pro ensures its user will not have much to worry about the device running low every now and then.

Also, it offers Oppo's own solution called VOOC Flash Charging that requires using the bundled 20W charger and a proprietary microUSB cable, which can be limiting. At least, it offers great speeds. The 20W adapter can bring the Oppo F11 Pro battery from 0% to about 40% in around 30 minutes, which is quite rapid. It takes about 85mins for a full charge.

The OPPO F11 Pro is a dual-SIM smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM cards. Connectivity options on the device include Wi-Fi, GPS, 3G, and 4G, while the sensors on the phone include an accelerometer, proximity sensor, and fingerprint sensor.

OPPO F11 Pro - Price and Availablity

The phone is currently available for order both offline and online. For the price, it costs INR 24,990 in India, the OPPO F11 Pro is currently not available in Nigeria and it went on sale in India starting from 15th March and will move to other parts of the world later.

OPPO F11 Pro - Pros
  • Captivating design and you can't really tell if it's plastic or glass
  • Full widescreen with superb contrast

  • Excellent camera quality for a photo enthusiast
OPPO F11 Pro - Cons
