Tag Heuer Announces Golf Edition of its Connected Modular 45 Smartwatch

The Modular Connected 45 smartwatch that was launched back in 2017 by Tag Heuer, here is the golfer edition in 2019. The Tag Heuer Connected Modular 45 Golf Edition comes with a golf-inspired design, a shock-resistant materials making it a better fit for when you're out for around.

This Golf Edition was first introduced at the Baselworld 2019. It differs from the standard model mostly in terms of the design, which the Golf Edition comes with a black ceramic bezel with the words ‘Golf Edition’ written along it.

The bezel also has the numbers 1-18 around it, to indicate an 18-hole round of golf. The body of the watch uses black PVD titanium, while the strap is made from black and white rubber, and there are green accents on both the strap and the body of the watch.

The 45mm sized watch features a 400 x 400 resolution touchscreen display, which is protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. The watch also features black ceramic lugs, titanium casing and is accompanied by a white strap with green stitching to continue the golfing theme, with an additional black rubber strap also included with the watch.

Basically, the watch has a golf-inspired look, and Tag Heuer has also launched a ‘Tag Heuer Golf’ app to go alongside the watch. This lets you see maps of over 39,000 golf courses, see the distance to greens and hazards, measure shot distance, save scores and more.

The Golf App is free for iOS and Android and is also compatible with Tag's other Connected Modular smartwatches. The watch has some additional features like recording shot distances with an accuracy to within one metre, record scores for up to four players and display distances to green and hazards.

Furthermore, it also offers 2D course mapping on the watch and precise 3D mapping Tag says is more advanced than anything else similar on the market. From the phone app, it uses vector technology to display courses in greater detail, displaying bunkers, fairways and rough with maps that are interactive and scrollable.

In terms of core smarts, it runs on Google's Wear OS and comes with built-in GPS, NFC for Google Pay contactless payments, a mic for Google Assistant support, 4GB of RAM and 512MB of storage, water resistance rating up to 50M, a 410mAh battery capacity onboard, delivering 25 hours of play time.

And as for the price, the watch is not going to be cheap, am sorry. It's available to buy now from the Tag Heuer website for $1850, making it similarly priced to the first Modular Connected 45.
